Dahlov Zorach Ipcar (1917 - )

Dahlov Zorach Ipcar was born in Windsor, Vermont and summered in Maine as a child. She married Adolph Ipcar (1905 - Oct. 2003) when she was 18 and they moved to a Robinhood, Maine farm where she's lived since 1937. Ipcar has written and illustrated over 80 children's and young adult books, many repeating her primary images of animals and farm life. There's a biographical sketch of Ipcar on the Univ. of Southern Mississippi's de Grummond Collection site, and Pat Davidson Reef wrote a book on her entitled Dahlov Ipcar, Artist (1987).
